Welcome to the Kenowa Hills Orchestra!
About Us
The Kenowa Hills Orchestra was established in the fall of 1998 under the direction of Frank HIllyard. The program has grown to over 120 students in grades 6-12, and currently has members who play the violin, viola, cello, and bass. We have had pianists and harpists in our orchestra as well, and encourage students who may be moving into our district to visit with our director and join us each day!

Our Mission
The mission of our program is very simple: To create students who love music, care about the community, and blossom into positive members of society. As members of our program, students lead by example and become leaders through their hard work and passion of music.

Giving Bach
The Giving Bach program is a 1/2 hour presentation that students give to members of the community, focussing on giving back. Students perform for audiences, interact with them, and bring to life the true meaning of music, to make us smile! Students perform each year as a large ensemble, but also go out in the community in smaller groups and perform independently as well. More information on the student end can be found on the Giving Bach page, or reach out to our director to bring our students to you!

Orchestra Alumni
Over our 20 year existence, we have many alumni who have become very successful, both musically and professionally. We love our alumni, and bring them together each May for a special reunion concert. If you are an alum, or know one, reach out to us and join us for our annual Alumni Concert. This year's concert will be held on May 19, and is free to the public. We hope to see you there!

Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador Program is a way for HS students to take ownership for the next generation of musicianship at KH. Students work on projects such as recruiting, student morale, conflict resolution, and parent involvement. Members of the team travel throughout the community sharing our mission and philosophy to members of all ages
